DHJSC was founded in 2004, by Tom and Louise Shanley, with the dream to be able to help the riders not only succeed in their riding skills, but also to offer scholarship money to help them succeed in life. As of 2024 DHJSC has awarded over half a million dollars in scholarships with a current average of $35,000 per year.
